London Guide: Bea's of Bloomsbury

Bea's of Bloomsbury is a fantastic bakery, with branches in Bloomsbury,
St Paul's and on Matlby Street.  They have a regular selection of cupcakes,
cakes and brownies in their shops (along with gems like mango and strawberry
marshmallows), and you can pre-order from a larger variety, listed on their website.

I think the best part about Bea's is the lunch menu.  It changes daily,
includes a variety of salad, sandwiches, quiche, roasted veg, roasted meat,
soup and some kind of bake.  You can get a small take-away box (plenty
big enough) with three of those choices for just £5 - and that's £5 much
better spent than on some pre-made boxed sandwich.

How great are these cake stands from Undergrowth?

Their cupcakes really are as a good as they look, and I'll admit it (quietly) -
I think cupcakes are overrated and usually form over substance.

Bea's is also currently hosting a number of classic movie nights,
often with American-themed food, at the Maltby Street location.

  1. What's the cost of cupcakes and scones?

    1. Carin, the cupcakes are £2.60, if I remember correctly (so pretty comparable with places like Hummingbird). I don't know the price of an individual scone off the top of my head but, according to the website, you can order a dozen for £12.
